Not professional quality artistry, but, I had fun recording these. And, I hope
you may enjoy hearing some of them.
Several people have told me that they picked up some useful ideas from these
samples.
My aim was to experiment with a variety of registrations and styles. Why get
stuck with always playing everything the same way?
Variety is much more fun.
Once, after I repaired an organ, and tested all the features by playing a number
of songs, the owner was fascinated because she did not know
the organ had so many interesting sounds. But, suddenly, it dawned on the little
old lady; "You changed my registration. Now I'll never find it again".
On another occasion, I was called to service an organ because "it just
does not sound the way it used to sound". I could not find a thing wrong.
But, while testing, I happened to select 16' & 4' Tibias, and played open
harmony. The owner called out from another room,
"That's the way it used to sound. I knew you could fix it if you kept trying.
Heck, I don't even play the same song twice the same way.
