What Is it? C.A.P.O.E.S. is Casio Automated Parts Order Entry System. Much more than a simple BBS, it is an extension of Casio's business philosophy to support professional servicers in a professional manner. C.A.P.O.E.S. is Casio's best employee. It never sleeps, takes breaks, or asks for a raise. It has been on-line continuously since May 1, 1987.
C.A.P.O.E.S. is a network of seven stand-alone computers nationwide (+1 in Canada) which are ON LINE 24 hours a day - seven days a week - ready to answer your call. These magnificent eight microcomputers serve you with intelligence similar to that of a mainframe.
Any Casio part - for Any Casio product - can be ordered via C.A.P.O.E.S. Our system of service literature and well sorted master lists directly enhance C.A.P.O.E.S..
All C.A.P.O.E.S. stations allow access to our "Problem/Solution" library, which has documented technician tips on almost all Casio devices; parts databases; product trivia databases; parts explosion utility programs; and more!
Intrinsic to the library in all C.A.P.O.E.S. stations, there is a uniquely flexible parts data research facility which enables you to find code numbers for items based upon component markings or naming the product where it is used or requesting the chip family or requesting a code number range.
Warranty Authorized Service Centers use the C.A.P.O.E.S. network extensively to transmit rebate data to Casio headquarters. They also download key data lookup files for their own system's maintenance.
A flexible bulletin board feature announces technical literature updates and special parts sales every day.
Much like a spider, the C.A.P.O.E.S. network stands on multiple legs (presently seven). It can never completely go off line. When one station is occupied by a user, the other six stations are unaffected.
Each C.A.P.O.E.S. station has an active database of 41,000 parts and 1900 account's addresses. It can find any desired part in an average of only 0.5 seconds. (Not bad for 1 in 41,000!)
Many owners of small repair businesses at one point in their lives worked for a large corporation and made a decision to start their own business specifically for the freedom of managing their own time. C.A.P.O.E.S. fits this philosophy perfectly. It is ready when YOU need it.
Using C.A.P.O.E.S. As A Management Tool:
2) If you offer 24 hour maintenance agreements to your customers, you can now order parts at 11:00 PM Saturday night for that restaurant POS system, or 7:00 AM Sunday morning during that food store installation. You can use THE STORE'S name or account number (with you) as the C.A.P.O.E.S. order reference number, so that when these parts arrive your staff know exactly who needs them - automatically. A major POS account may necessitate priority shipment - Federal Express/UPS New Day - versus a casual ECR customer. Because C.A.P.O.E.S. has no minimums, you can separate orders as desired.
3) The parts research and technical data in the library is worth it's weight in gold. The time your staff can save in finding basic information is enormous. This is 1995! As handheld terminals with built-in modems become more common, your field service staff can have C.A.P.O.E.S. resources at their fingertips. Because the library contains information of more than 10 years of past products, you have the ability to perform most of the known common repairs without the old service manuals. A Caiso advantage!
4) Multi-branch Dealers may wish to control who can order parts versus accessing our library for technical support. At your option, you can give us different passwords for each branch. Another way is to inform your technicians to use LIBRARY as the account number. This will access the library only. Clever...eh?
What's in the C.A.P.O.E.S. library? Lots of good stuff.
After you first log-in with your account number, the daily bulletin
board appears and then the master menu with options for you to enter
a parts order or go to the library. At anytime, you can exit the
library to place a parts order to jump from within an order to the
library.
If you wish to access the library only (why would anyone not want to place an order?) use LIBRARY as your account number.
If you are in the middle of entering a parts order, answer LIBRARY or HELP at any system prompt and off you will go to the library to find what you need.
Think of the library as a building with three floors:
SECOND FLOOR: ASCII files. 740+ Historical problem/solution documents; assorted ASCII files of parts data and product trivia.
THIRD FLOOR: Binary files. Parts utility programs; EPROM files; hundreds of .TIFF graphic Technical News Bulletins/schematics and printer parts.
Equipment Requirements: We deliberately "kept it simple". C.A.P.O.E.S. was created with the concept of NOT requiring specific software or hardware on your side. It uses standard TTY character protocol.
C.A.P.O.E.S. works with almost every computer on the U.S. market which has a serial port and asynchronous communications software. This includes MS-DOS (IBM compatible), Apple, Commodore, Atari, and Unix. C.A.P.O.E.S. Also works fine with the terminal emulator of Windows 3.1, and every commercial communications package currently on the market. Even a dumb terminal connected to a modem will work with !
The best modems we can endorse for use with C.A.P.O.E.S. are the same our systems use Multitech 932EC, but lower quality modems will work just as well if you can accept occasional character loss.
- our computer-aided-design package has been specially developed to
help you easily see on your screen (or print out) the layout of an
organ console you may be designing. Different types of stop controls,
pistons, special signal lights and MIDI equipment can be put together
to design any size of organ.
Information about the organ is entered on a virtual organ console as shown on the image above. Components (such as drawknobs, pistons, etc.) can be selected from a palette, and placed on the console. The size of the console, stop jambs, etc. can be adjusted to accommodate the number of stops, keyboards, etc., desired. Pop-up windows prompt the user for all the information necessary to specify the details of each component as it is specified. Other features of OrganWorks include:
An unregistered version of OrganWorks is available free of charge and is available to download, or you can request a copy on disk. If you find the program useful, you may register it, and then personalize all printed output by adding your Company Name, etc. The cost to register is only US$40 ($50CDN).

WinDraft®
Install WinDraft® schematic design tool on your
PC and in minutes you'll be designing schematics. Everything is
included for wiring, drawing, printing and finishing your design. A
full graphical library editor and title block editor are included. A
library part may be created from scratch, shapes imported from other
parts, and graphical definitions can easily be edited.
WinDraft® provides all you expect and more.
User definable on-line ERC identifies problem areas in the circuit so
they do not make their way into the final design. Bill of Materials
(BOM), cleanup to remove overlapping wires, and annotation are
included. On-line help is only a click away and includes the complete
reference manual. WinDraft® is the ideal front
end tool for our PCB layout. You can even specify track widths and
isolations right in the schematic.
WinBoard®
WinBoard® PCB layout delivers the most
sophisticated interactive routing capability available for the
Windows environment. It has the power needed for even complex board
design, and the tools for high speed circuits, analog design and
dense SMT boards. WinBoard® comes complete with
a library of over 700 module footprints including over 350 SMT
footprints. Pad stacks may be edited on-line by just double clicking
on the pad. A graphical editor is included to create custom module
footprints or edit existing ones. Placing multiple copper pours is as
quick and easy as routing. Outputing to In-Circuit Test, NC Drill,
Gerber, Pick and Place plus others is included.
IvexViewTM
IvexViewTM is a
Gerber viewer that makes it easy to check your photo plots before
making expensive film. View reads Gerber files from
WinBoard® PCB and over 20 other venders. Using
a viewer to check photoplot files allows you to look for
irregularities in the Gerber output. Then if a problem is found, the
board can be corrected and a new output generated. This can save time
and money! IvexViewTM
has the same look and feel as WinDraft® and
WinBoard®. In addition to previewing files, you
can manage multi-layer designs in one job file, highlight D-Codes,
and print positive or negative outputs.
IVEX
SpiceTM
IVEX SpiceTM is an
analog simulation product that allows the user to instantly test
their design circuit on screen versus what could take hours or days
on a breadboard. Additions or changes to your circuit can be tested
with IVEX SpiceTM
using up to several types of analysis. It displays on-screen
waveforms that allow you to find flaws in your design that are
difficult to reproduce on a test bench. For example, what happens to
the circuit when a resistor is slightly out of tolerance or if the
temperature exceeds manufacturer specifications? IVEX
SpiceTM uses proven
Berkley Spice technology and the latest XSpice extensions for results
you can count on.
